We strongly encourage international submissions and submission of films with a tie to Maryland (made in Maryland or with a producer, director, or actor fom Maryland). In addition this year's festival has several special focus areas including a reprise of last year's very successful, The African American Experience on Film, as well as an LGBT series and films on the environment. We encourage films touching on these subjects.

Films made through a course of film study by High School and College/University students will be open for consideration for the Student Shorts Showcase. Qualifying films may be narrative or documentary and must run under 20 minutes. Entries must be accompanied by a photocopy or scan of a current and valid student ID card or a letter from an accredited school verifying enrollment at the time of filming.
Please do not submit a work-in-progress, rough-cut, or incomplete version. Filmmakers will be notified of acceptance no later than January 15, 2015.
